The medical studies are alarming: during their lives, most people are affected by lower back pain. This medical condition is responsible for more incapacity and sick leave than any other is. Check out the fact:

• Half of all people who experience lower back pain will have repeat attack within twelve months.
Lower back pain – Acute or Chronic?
Acute lower back pain occurs suddenly. Very often, you will know exactly what causes it: an accident that jars your back, for instance, such as fall from a chair or a ladder. Or, you may simply stumble and pitch backwards to the ground.
Whatever the cause, you will probably strain and tear the ligaments, tendons and muscles in your lower back. All of these tissues are essential to your well-being, and any trauma affecting them produces severe pain.
A particularly severe accident will cause even more serious damage. This could be a fracture in the lumbar spine, or a break in the coccyx at the base of the spinal column. The pain from such injuries can be excruciating, as some of you may already know.
The cause of chronic pain, pain that continues for a long time or constantly recurs, can be more difficult to assess. It may cause by deterioration of the discs between the spine’s vertebrae. In other words, the discs may dry out, thereby allowing pressure to be placed on the nerves that run through the spine. The result is severe lower back pain, usually known as osteoarthritis.
Others suffer when the joints of the lower back become inflamed as rheumatoid arthritis enters their body. This condition is not only chronic, it steadily progresses through the system.
Another common cause of chronic lower back pain is osteoporosis, in which the bones of the spine become brittle and fragile because of hormonal changes or vitamin deficiencies.
Other causes of lower back pain
• Spondylosis – this occurs when the disc between the vertebrae of the spine distintegrate, allowing the vertebrae to rub against each other.
• Sciatica – degeneration of the spinal discs can also cause compression of the nerve roots in the lower back, resulting in intense pain.
• Lumber spinal stenosis – pressure on the spinal cord, a consequence of damage to the fiber that houses the cord, can lead to lumbar spinal stenosis. The most noticeable physical sign of this condition is the way that suffers must stand or sit with a hunched posture to ease the appealing pain.
• Depression – for 80% of those who have lower back pain, doctors cannot determine the cause. This adds to the depression that suffers often feel because they have no understanding or control of their disorder.
The CHI institute as recognized the desperate need for a consistent form of relief for lower back pain. Institute researchers studied the available remedies and learned from the practices of many different cultures and people, including the renowned qigong healers of Beijing, China. From these experiences, the institute began developing positive therapeutic solution to the problems of Lower Back Pain in both its forms, acute and chronic.

Hyperextension can aggravate the chronic lower back and hip pain. When you go shopping for a mattress always buy a soft mattress that is ideal for the curvature of your spine. This kind of soft mattress keeps the lower back in flexed position and slightly stretched, so that there is no nagging pain when you wake up.
Use legs not back:
Normally when we lift a weight we put great pressure on our back. Instead, keep your lower back in arched position and lift the load. Bend the knees and put the pressure on your leg muscles. An upright torso while lifting weights can always avoid the risk of chronic lower back pain.
Exercise routines:
Inclusion of a strict exercise regime for 30 minutes to one hour, everyday can alleviate chronic pain and prevent the occurrence of the same. Humanity is unfortunately no stranger to pain. Regardless of where you live in the world, the socio-economic status you hold or your perceived level of happiness, you can be guaranteed that without fail you will experience some degree of pain in your physical body at some time during your lifetime.
What is Pain?
Pain comes in many forms, the most obvious being physical pain, in which a person experiences feelings of discomfort or hurt within the body. Not all physical pain is bad, nor is it necessarily associated with illness; ask any woman who has been through the birthing process, or a child proudly showing off their new tooth. Similarly, the pains felt when you break your arm, cut your finger or haul yourself out of bed after doing 200 sit-ups the previous day are all normal and healthy messages. Your body in its automatic self-preservation mode is alerting you to the fact that it has experienced trauma – just in case you hadn’t noticed!
Chronic Pain
However, some physical pain can become chronic. Chronic pain is pain that continues day in, day out, without any signs that the problem is resolving itself! Do you know what I’m referring to? It may have at its roots a long-term or presently incurable illness, or may have been brought about by injury or even a former operation. Some chronic pain may not even have an evident source; however its existence is keenly felt.
People who live with chronic pain will often testify that it affects their quality of life. It can physically prevent them from being able to participate in various activities of normal life, which then often leads to feelings of helplessness or even depression. For some, there seems to be no escape from the endless state of pain.
Chronic Pain Management for a Better Life
If the feelings I have just described sound familiar as a sufferer of chronic pain, I am sure that you would welcome any reasonable solution to help alleviate – and potentially remove – your symptoms. Some sufferers are willing to try any manner of pills, remedies and therapies in the hope of finding relief. They often turn to medication or even surgery in their quest for chronic pain management, but somewhere in the subconscious mind, the pain is still very real. It is clear that an alternative method of chronic pain management is needed.
Pain Relief Hypnosis
I recommend that you consider pain relief hypnotherapy. It has been clinically documented that pain relief hypnosis works. It is estimated that about 80% of the world’s population at some point in time will suffer from a muscular skeletal disorder generally referred to as lower back pain.
In the vast majority of cases it is not even known what caused the onset of pain in the first place. Also, in the majority of cases, the pain will show significant reduction and even disappear on it’s own after a few weeks.
One way to classify the various levels of back pain is by the length of time it takes to subside ie.,” acute back pain” last for less than 4 weeks, “sub-acute” last between 4 to 12 weeks, and” chronic back pain” is when the symptoms last for more than 12 weeks.
Most cases of back pain are generally associated with back muscle and soft tissue strain or sprain. Of course their are also numerous physical abnormalities that can also be the source of the problem, such as sacroiliac joint dysfunction. Physical causes may include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, degeneration of the discs between the vertebrae or a spinal disc herniation, a vertebral fracture (such as from osteoporosis), or rarely, an infection or tumor.
I am not a doctor but I would suggest that you consult one before doing anything that might aggravate an already painful situation.
I suffered for years with chronic lower back pain, that was not caused by any type of sudden injury, trauma or accident. I played all sorts of recreational sports for years with high intensity ( basketball, tennis, racquetball, running, golf, swimming just to name a few), I never incurred any type of severe injury from any of these sports. However, I noticed over time that I started experiencing lower back pain.
I went to the doctor, but he could not find any abnormality. I consulted a chiropractor, and he said I was out of alignment. So I began treatment to re-align my muscular skeletal structure. I stopped all sports for a year and took chiropractic therapy twice a week.
The result was a complete waste of my time and money since there was no improvement.
I went back to playing sports, and just put up with the occasional back pain episodes. Then one day a friend who I played golf with told me about this exercise program that he used to eliminate his chronic back pain condition. He gave me the website address to go online and see if I might want to try it.

Growing up, and into my thirties I lived an active life with sports, hard work and many activities. I was so strong that I never thought about having physical limitations other than the occasional injury. It was a shock to me when I started having debilitating back problems. Mostly it was in the lower back though other areas would become involved. I wont go into the whole story now, but I ended up having several problems which included severe lower back pain.
