Hello my name is Stacy & I also have a herniated disk :( Doc says it’s huge. I had to beg my doc to send me for a MRI after seeing a chiropractor for about 3 months as well as seeing a Physical Therapist for 6 weeks my MD finally sent me for a MRI. My disk is pressing on nerves & I feel pretty much the same symptoms as you did. Sometimes I think I am getting better but then it comes back strong & bites me in the butt. I am also a dancer but have been unable to work. I’m scared of surgery tho :(

wow I am so happy I ran into your video about your back problem as I have exactly what you have or had in this video but seems like no one not even my husband will listen to me, not even the doctors here I will try again though because I have had this for almost 2 months and I am sick of having pain so thanks for making this video I will save it in my favorites as this video is helpful to me

Thank you sire for this informative video!

I have also been living with a herniated disk for the past three months, and everything you’ve said in this video mirrors how I feel. I am currently visiting a chiropractor which is slowly helping to ease the pain away, yet every once in awhile the pain will flare to the point where I cannot sleep.

Unfortunately for me, surgery isn’t an option (God bless this economy and my lack of foresight when I was younger), but I am glad to hear that you are finally free of this incapacitating pain.

Do you guys think it’s possible to bulk up by pushing light weights with a slipped disk. Can’t push as much any more becuase of the disc. Does anyone else here weight train with a slipped disc?

  • fixmyhvac says:

Your experiance is the same as us all ,and doctors continue to ignor these facts and keeps making me more mad .Sorry man I and all ive talked to have the same issues.coldness is crazy in the toes . Fill a sock with uncooked rice and tie it then microwave for 4 mins use as a heat pack stays hot for 30mins move from back to calf or foot .

Good friend is a dancer. During WICKED, he slipped a disc. He uses stretches and strength-training and is good as new. Some of his therapists used pressure points and massage. Important to find a good therapist!! I’m hoping to have discechtomy very soon. It’s been over 6 months. I’ve lost 8 kilos. Good luck!!!

  • adjusterevans says:

Had a Nucleoplasty performed ( don’t do it! It’s a sham and rarely helps… They just want ur money!!) with no benefificial results. The pain in buttocks and leg is the worst! Thoughts of suicide were defeating and draining. Sent from doctor to doctor to doctor!! It hurts to sit walk and stand and I have to go to all these places. Crazy!!

  • adjusterevans says:

Great video! 6 months since diagnosis L5/S1 plus two other skipped discs. NOBODY but those experiencing this knows how badly this hurts! Mentally you’re drained from fighting pain, depression, anger, hopelessness. Spent months crawling and living on my hardwood floor! Hurt to sit, stand, walk. To be contd..

hello, I recently did something to my lower back, and I’m not sure what it is. Its a sharp and throbbing pain, in my lower back, and runs down my upper leg to about my knee. I don’t have any healthcare, so I’ve just been taking Ibueprophen and keeping ice on it all day. I’m hoping its just a piched nerve or something, but its been 5 days now…I can hardly stand or sit for more than 15 minutes before I feel I need to lie down again. I hope its not a herniated disk.

@chrisevilmonkey Chris- I have a herniated L5,S1 and just recieved my 1st epidural about four days ago. The first day or two was good but pain in leg is coming back. I will have to get a second epidural in two weeks. Will see. Good luck.

  • Blueaveo3568 says:

Thank you for this video. It explains everything I have experienced. I just had my 1st epidural and am hoping that it helps.

  • razorinfla says:

Awesome explanation. This is exactly what I had. However, I had th surgery. Still numb in some areas, still in pain, but most of sciatic pain is gone. Feel sorry for anyone with this. Surgery still helped me. Percocet does too, but can’t live on that forever. also a vet, so VA may help, but not what I need. This has been going on for two years now. By the way, had discectomy, week later Fusion, 7 months later redone, but with frontal surgery too.

  • magicquartz says:

Wow, I’m glad I found your tutorial. I just got diagnosed with a compressed disk around the same area as yours. Strange enough just slight pain but mostly numbness in my right leg all the way down to the foot, and no reflexes what so ever. I’m still able to drive and control a car with my right leg though, fortunate enough. I’m to start therapy soon and I hope it works. By the way, could I be looking at a long road to a recovery also? Just curious.

  • tazzdrummer1 says:

I know exactly what your pain is I have it too…the percocet kill the pain much better than the lortabs do

  • VintageSkiDooRacer1 says:

whell i finally went to see a doctor ,turns out i have L5,s1 disk herniation

    i wana die!

  • VintageSkiDooRacer1 says:

i had a high impact fall onto a cement floor ,same thing happened too me,i blacked out for a while after i fell from so much pain and couldnt stand up fully for a few weeks ,i now get pains down my right leg and my lower back hurts 24/7
it’s been close to a year now of constant pain
never been to a doctor and cant afford to do anything about it .

continued….and then turning around on your belly and laying flat for ten minutes. Also raising your leg straight up while laying on your back after doing the first two. And laying on your back while having someone raise your leg (the one that hurts) a little bit, about a foot off the ground, have them gently pull your leg towards them while shaking your leg slowly

  • basit124 says:

continued…..surgery but she was extremely uncomfortable, or should I say scared of having surgery. She had about 5 weeks to wait before surgery. She was doing some research online about sciatica and found one of those home exercise videos. She said one of them really caught her attention, believe me or not followed those exercises for about 2 weeks and was almost completely out of pain. It included simply laying down on your back on a flat surface for about ten minutes……..continued

  • basit124 says:

hey man I really feel sorry for you. You mentioned surgery, It’s been a while since you posted this video but I am strongly against surgery for sciatica. My mother has a history of sciatica, she gave birth to me and four of my siblings, so it has to be because of carelessness during pregnancy, it’s chronic. She had it last september, says it was the worst she ever had, she went to the chiro, physio, and everything you mentioned, but nothing helped, she was given a date for her……continued

  • luv2watchyou says:

Yeah, it’s the same thing. It can also be refered to as a ‘disc buldge’ as well. It’s extremely paniful too.
